This week we have continued our unit on farming and have busily been working away on our art for our calendars. At the end of our reading or writing time we often do a fun activity with Miss Hughes where we have identify a letter sound with an object. One group of children have also started identifying blend sounds and matching these with objects. It is a quick and fun activity and something you can always try at home. Pick up an object like a pen, say pen, the sound at the start of the word and the letter that makes that sound. You can also play 'I Spy' but instead of saying something starting with the letter name you use the associated sound instead.
