Today we experimented with baking soda, food colouring and vinegar to make a mini volcano. It was a lot of fun watching the reaction between vinegar and baking soda.If you would like to make one at home please follow our instructions:
Materials:
sand or dirt
small container
baking soda
food colouring (red for lava)
vinegar
Once you have made a volcano shape with the sand, put the small container in the top. Add some baking soda, food colouring and then finally add vinegar and watch the reaction!
We learnt that we needed to add more food colouring next time. Our lava was a bit brown!
